Congress holds statewide protest, wants CM to resign for delay in local body polls

Gujarat Pradesh Congress organized demonstrations in front of collectorate offices in all 33 districts of the state on Tuesday, demanding immediate resignation of Chief Minister Anandiben Patel for postponing local body polls citing poor law and order situation in the state. the BJP government was using law and order simply as a ploy to defer the elections, as the Patel agitation had weakened its support base among electorates. The BJP, the Congress leaders, said in the memoranda, feared defeat and hence, invented this ploy to run away from the poll. The opposition leaders in their memorandum to the district collectors said that if the state BJP government led by Anandiben Patel was feeling helpless in maintaining law and order, she had no right to remain in power.
