Rahul again uses ‘Gabbar’ jibe to attack PM Modi, now on farmers’ plight

NEW DELHI: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday addressed the issues plaguing the farmers of the country in his 9th question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The question was part of Congress leader’s social media campaign+ where he poses a question a day to highlight the failures of BJP in the run-up to the assembly elections in the Gujarat.

In his latest tweet, the Congress leader, making a reference of “Gabbar”, accused the PM of betraying the farmers and addressed the issues of loan waiver for the farmers, the pricing of produce, non-payment of crop insurance money, and the failure to install tube wells.

The tweet was a part of Rahul Gandhi’s social media campaign to quiz PM Modi+ with a question a day in the wake of the assembly elections in Gujarat.

On Wednesday, Rahul had addressed the issues of rampant cases of child malnourishment, poor infant mortality rate and the ailing health services in the state as part of his 8 th question.

In the seventh question, posted on Tuesday, the Congress leader grilled the PM on the issue of price rise and accused the BJP of being a government for the rich.The campaign began on November 29, with Rahul’s Twitter handle attacking the Modi government for its failure to fulfil its 2012 promise of providing housing to 50 lakh people.

Since then, the Congress vice president has spoken on Gujarat’s debt, ‘favourable’ treatment given to private electricity generation companies at the cost of public sector, ‘expensive’ education in school and colleges, (lack of) women safety, education and health in Gujarat, and unemployment.

Last month, Congress communications department in charge Randeep Surjewala had said that Rahul would pose a question to the Prime Minister every day to highlight BJP government’s 22 years of misrule in Gujarat.
