Gujarat Congress join rituals at Lord Jagannath’s temple

On Friday, Congress leaders including the President of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Bharatsinh Solanki and Leader of the Opposition in Gujarat Assembly, Shankersinh Vaghela, former GPCC President Arjun Modhwadia, Siddharth Patel, Congress MLA Shaktisinh Gohil, Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar, City Congress President Chetan Raval and other Congress leader. joined the worship ceremony of Lord Jagannath’s Rathyatra. Large number of Congress supporters prayed to the Lord for peace, communal harmony and successful completion of the festival.

Councillors of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation led by leader of opposition Badruddin Sheikh paid visit to Jagannath Mandir and sought blessings of Mahant Shri Dilipdasji Maharaj ahead of Rath Yatra which is scheduled to take place on July 18th.

The Chariot of Lord Jagannath is all set to roll on the city roads, where lakhs of devotees will seek divine blessings during the 138th edition of the Rath Yatra beginning tomorrow from the 400-year-old temple in Jamalpur area here.

Rath Yatra or chariot festival is celebrated by Hindus on the second day of Sukla Paksha (waxing cycle of moon) in the month of Ashadh.
